But how do you access and manage these settings later on?
That is our concern today.
How to reach the Facebook settings page for ad accounts
Well, the first method is quite simple:
Just click HERE and you will be taken to the ad accounts settings page!
But what if you don’t want to come to this blog post every time you want to access Facebook ad settings for your account?
That’s what the next method is for.
- In your Facebook Ads Manager, click on the main menu on the top left corner of the page.
- From the menu, select, Ad Account settings.
This will lead you directly to the Ad accounts settings page.
- In the top right-hand corner of the page, you will see a dropdown menu. This is where you can choose the actual ad account for which you want to modify the settings. Click on the relevant option.
- Open the Facebook Ads Manager page.
- Click on the Settings icon in the top right-hand corner of the page.
Whichever of these methods you follow, you will be led to a page that looks something like this:
This is where you can control your Facebook Ads Manager ad accounts settings.
As mentioned above, you can select the ad account you want to change the settings for from the drop-down menu in the top right-hand corner.
Let’s go through each of the Facebook ad settings sections one by one.
Here, you have the option of changing specifics such as the ad account name, the time zone, currency, and so on.
Ad account name
This is pretty straightforward.
Just type in the new name of the ad account in the space provided.
It is important to note here that when you make a change to any items on this page, you will later have to save the changes by clicking on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the section.
When the account is created, you automatically receive a time zone, as well as a currency, based on your location.
When can you face the need to make changes to these settings?
Let’s suppose you change the location of your business – you will definitely have to modify the time zone according to your new location.
Similarly, if you want to start carrying out your Facebook ad campaign transactions in a different currency (due to a relocation or otherwise), you will want to edit the currency.
Note: By making these changes, you will be creating a new account and ads in your old account will stop running. This is something to consider before you make the change.
So, how do you actually do it?
Simply click on the Change Time Zone or Change Currency buttons. The following pop-up will appear:
Make the modifications as necessary and click on the Create New Account button.
In this section, you can also modify basic business details such as your business name, address, and country, as well as your tax ID number.
Here, you have the option of selecting one of two options, namely:
Facebook describes these options as being present for legal reasons because you may be restricted to carry out certain kinds of advertising based on where you are located.
As we mentioned before, once you have made all the changes, you need to click on the Save Changes button. If you are not sure you want to implement that changes just yet, click on Discard Changes.
Deactivate Facebook ad account
By clicking on the Deactivate Account button, you can, as the name suggests, deactivate the ad account.
What will happen next will be described by Facebook in the pop-up that will appear.
You can select a reason for deactivating the account and then click on the Deactivate Ad Account button. You will, as a result, see the Facebook ad account disabled.
Ad Account Roles
Under this section, you can add different members to the ad account.
Simply click on the Add People button.
In the pop-up that appears, you can enter a friend’s name and assign them a role. Choose from among ad account admin, ad account advertiser, and ad account analyst from the drop-down menu.
Facebook grants these permissions to the different roles:
- Ad account admin: Can create, edit and view ads, access reports, edit payment methods and manage admin permissions.
- Ad account advertiser: Can see and edit ads and set up ads using the payment method associated with the ad account. They can also view the payment method.
- Ad account analyst: Can view ads and access reports.
Click confirm once you are done with your selection.
The aim of this is to allow you to work together with your team when it comes to advertising on Facebook.
If, sometime down the line, you want to remove someone from the ad account, you can do that by clicking on the x next to their name.
The second option in the Facebook ad settings menu is Pages.
Clicking on this displays a list of all the pages you manage on Facebook. Clicking on any particular page will lead you to that page.
Here, you will have access to the admin panel of the page, from which you will be able to play around with the settings whenever you wish.
We discuss many of these settings in detail here.
Next comes another very important section:
It is a given that if you are running ads, you are spending money on them – nothing in this world is free.
That is why it is impossible for you to begin running any kind of a Facebook campaign to advertise until you add information regarding how you’ll pay for it.
This is where you do that.
Add Payment method
To add a payment method, click on the Add Payment Method button.
Once you have added the information, you can click on Continue to save the information.
Account Spending Limit
You have the option of choosing the maximum amount that you want to spend on your Facebook ad campaigns.
Once that limit has been reached, Facebook Ads Manager will automatically turn the ads off.
You can specify this limit by clicking on the Add Account Spending Limit button and adding the amount in the pop-up that appears.
Just click on Set Limit once you are done.
Once you have reached the limit, the ads stop running temporarily, although they are still categorized as active. You get a notification when you’ve reached your limit.

Billing and Receipts History
In this section, you can view all your past billing information so you can keep track of how much you spent on what campaign and in what period of time.
Just click on View Receipts and all the information will be displayed to you.
You can use the parameters given at the top of the page to make specific searches defined by your unique criteria.
This brings us to the last part of the Facebook Ads Manager ad accounts setting page:
Facebook sends you notification about the various happenings that take place in your Facebook ads manager.
You can choose what you want to be notified about, as well as what you don’t want to be bothered by.
Note: Facebook specifies that if it deems a notification to be super-important, it will be sent your way, even if you have all notifications turned off.
Just make the selections you deem right for you in this section and click on the Save Changes button.
As always, if you are not sure about the changes just yet, click on the Discard Changes button.
And now, you won’t have any trouble doing that. Adjust your ads manager settings whenever the need arises and manage your Facebook ad campaigns like a pro!
